Regardless of what you order on the menu, you can't go wrong. I find it hard to have a "favorite" as really everything they make is just fabulous. Everything is made fresh to order.
Barrister's offers daily specials...some are even seasonal (fruit platter with tuna or chicken salad, for instance). Their soups change daily and are made fresh that day.
While I no longer work downtown, anytime I have a need to go downtown or to the east side, I make a special point to stop at Barrister's to get lunch. What is even better is the fact they offer their full menu to go, which makes things more convenient if I'm just passing through or have limited time & can't stay to sit in their restaurant.

What is even better is their menu is online. For me, this has come in handy to call my order ahead to have it ready for me to pick up.
On their website, there is the option to receive their daily specials via email.
While it may be intimidating to grab a bite to eat downtown, it is well worth the stop. They are located on Hamilton Ave, 1 street south of Lakeside just east of E 13th...with easy access to the theater district.
The only downfall is that parking is limited to the meters out front and the pay to park lot next door or across the street.
Whether I've stayed to eat at their restaurant or had to go orders, I've never had a problem finding parking.
If you work downtown, I know the B-line trolly goes down E13th and it is an easy walk from the Galleria & the Federal Building.
